Something from last summer..
This lovely shabby chair was only two bucks at a yard sale last summer, and I cannot pass by a chair like this one without looking at its price.. Why chairs? I don't know really, just something about old chairs, I can't have too many of them.. My grandparents might have used something like these.. Don't you just love this pillow? It's part of my first giveaway winnings Ever !! From my fab blog friend, Laura at Decor to Adore.. Love this photo.. It was taken in our old yard ( we have since moved about one mile away ) with flowerbeds in the background, isn't that purple astible just gorgeous !!!

Thriftin’ Thursday…
An old mailbox that hubby saved from going into the dumpster.. It is soo heavy and the whole front side opens.. (a bit dirty on the inside.. What’s been living in here?)
Thrift shoppe finds.. An old jar (without a lid) A vintage (and very large) salt shaker, a small lamp and a tiny glass salt/pepper set.. Even the tops of these are glass.. love them.. Click on the photo to see how amazing thrift shoppe prices are.. well sometimes.. : )
This is an old mailbox we found some time ago. I had plans of painting it.. Donna Dewberry’s One Stroke Painting flowers of course.. I do like it just as it is.. But it is rusting and painting it would highlight that adorable scalloped edge on the lid.. Hmmm… I’ll let ya know how it turns out.. Thanks so much for stopping by.. Happy thriftin’…

This week's thrift goodies..
This plant book is an awesome addition to our Libriary.. The chicken is a measuring spoon set holder, but sadly missing its spoons.. Love the set of 25th Anniversary cups..
Aren't these salt shakers the sweetest? They are so very heavy to be so small.. The bottoms are made of glass and the tops are a heavy cast metal.. Love them.. Just had to have this oversized blue check cup.. It would make a great soup cup..
This little heart is made of glass.. Not sure how I will use it yet.. Too small for a paperweight..Hmmm..
A glass canister jar, a small pitcher and a pair of Jack Daniel's shot glasses.. And yes I did find a couple of aprons that I haven't taken photos of yet, so I will post them later.. There are some amazing thift stores out there, soo get out there and Thrift people.. You will enjoy it...

Prom Dresses
Dresses are something I would not check on at the thrift store, but that was before I stumbled across a friends blog that was having a dress form party...I had never heard of this...There were about 30 people who wrote an entry about their dress form and how they like to dress them up and share pictures of them..Such beautiful pictures...These pictures were taken outside in gardens, in the potting shed, in the sewing room, and in the kitchen...This looked like it could be fun...It got me thinking 'I could do that'..I do have a dress form that my sister in law gave me a few years ago..I use her to take pictures of my apron collection...Why not dress her up in a prom dress? Well, I did check out the prom dresses at the thrift store, and i found a lovely pink strapless satin number for only $1.89...The dress looks lovely on my dress form, just a little too big, nothing a few pins can't handle ( in the back of the dress, unseen ) Next came the necklace and the beads...And now the big reveal...What do ya think? Lovely..Yes? I am pleased with it...I think I will be checking on the prom dresses from now on, and looking for something in blue...
Happy thriftin....

Something Hubby brought home
Hubby brought this home the other day...A trunk? I wonder how old it is? It is in good shape ...all the hardware works..lol...It soooo needs to be another colour...( maybe a vintage blue) and of course all those stars and moons must go...lol...And was I really surprised when we opened it... Oh yeah, it is full of fabric...The pretty piece of green on top has dragonflies on it ( i bought a 1/4 yd of it a few yrs ago, when i went back for more, it was gone.)It is clean ,somebody just didn't have room for it anymore..I will be thriftin' for some vintage wallpaper..and trimmings..This will then look so lovely in my sewing room... So I am very pleased with hubby right now for bringing this one home... Happy thriftin...

In the middle picture, these white ones are to dye for...lol...the one on the left is very heavy, not sure what its made of, and the one on the right will probly go in Mama's collection...Her fav colors... In the top picture, the figurine vase is like none I have ever seen before, it may not even be a vase.. the top has a screw on peice... and it is hollow inside...it has very lovely colours...and of course I could not leave behind this mismatched pair of salt and pepper shakers...they are just to 'lovely'...

Thrift Saturday...
Saturday is our day to thrift, hubby is off that day and we can shop more than one store if we are in the mood...This Saturday we did shop at 2 stores and I was sooo blessed to find another pair of Hollister jeans. (Ya just don't find these at yard sales, or at least I don't) They are too long and have a bit of wear on the bottoms of the legs, but that's no prob, I'm thinking of cutting them off to fit me...Also picked up a cute pair of cropped pants, a denim skirt, a belt, set of blue glass s&p shakers and a Coke christmas santa glass... (this one is for Mama, she is the Coke collector) and an apron pattern...
At the 2nd store I found this really cute green Hollister top, a pair of Old Navy crop pants, another denim shirt (this one is a bit longer), a cute white eyelet top and a book all about Herbs...
That's all for now.. Happy thrifting...

Hollister jeans!!!
We don't thrift very often on weekdays ( hubby gets home rather late sometimes ) but on Wednesday we both felt the need to thrift...lol...and boy was I surprised to find this great looking pair of Hollister jeans, and they are short, yee haw- I don't have to cut them off to make them fit!!! A cute brown top from Soo, a brown print apron with red binding that has funny poctets (i think they were sewn on backwards) and this cream colored sheer apron with a tiny bell sewn on the pocket...Not quite my cup of tea but I couldn't just leave it there. It has the cutest pocket made out of sheer eyelet...
Happy thrifting....

I Love Vintage
The hubby and I love to thrift shop. Thankfully we live near a big city where there are a few shops to choose from. We both collect things and this feeds that hobby and then some. ha ha...The hubby likes to collect books. All kinds of books. His favorites are short stories and childrens books. My favorites are kitchenware, dishes, vases, flowerpots, garden tools and aprons. I also collect cook books.
One of the best things about thrift shopping is that you never know what you might find. I think that old saying is true " Some peoples trash is somebody elses treasure."
Having said that, I would like to share some of the treasures we have found thrift shopping...
Happy thrift shopping,
